Today is mothers day and it got me thinking about what it has meant to me to be the mother of two beautiful children.
Being a mother has meant, having the biggest tears of joy when meeting this new person for the first time.
Being a mother has meant, sleepless nights, lots of poopy nappies and sore bleeding nipples.
Being a mother has meant, being challenged by things I never could have dreamt in my wildest nightmares.
Being a mother has meant, learning to grow again in a way I never thought I could have.
Being a mother has meant, learning to love those things that I could never done without my kids, including vomit, epilepsy, autism.
Being a mother has meant, creating a safe, loving environment for my children.
Being a mother has meant, cooking my kids yummy dinners and treats.
Being a mother has meant, challenging my children to grow in ways they never thought they needed to grow.
Being a mother has meant, learning a new creative play I never knew, bounding around like a frog, playing disney characters, making stories up at the drop of a hat.
Being a mother has meant, learning to love my frustrated and angry moments and knowing it will pass.
Being a mother has meant, protecting my kids from harm but also leaving them space to fight their own battles.
Being a mother has meant, giving my children space to thrive and become their own person.
Being a mother has meant, sharing lots of tears and tonnes of laughter.
Being a mother has meant, building a life long friendship I never want to end.
Being a mother has meant to me learning to love, guide and let go…
